PFF & Monarc Study: Analysis Reveals 35.3% Increase in Wins For Teams Training With Robotic QB
Less than six months into their partnership, Pro Football Focus (PFF) and Monarc release study findings that reveal a striking correlation between on-field success and teams using the Seeker - the world’s first robotic quarterback.
The 2024 analysis, using PFF’s industry-leading football database, revealed that teams training with the Seeker experienced a 35.3% increase in wins, equating to more than two additional victories per season. Notably, 10 out of 12 teams in the inaugural College Football Playoff and all four finalists integrated this cutting-edge technology into their training programs.
“The data speaks for itself,” said Tyler Phillips, PFF’s Business Development Lead. “The Seeker is significantly increasing offensive output, and it’s great to see the application of our data not only improving gametime decisions but also player development and performance.”
The Seeker allows teams to automate practices by programming plays and dramatically increases athlete’s practice volume by providing thousands of additional game-like reps. The system, paired with a tracking wearable, allows for individualized, asynchronous training that has led to measurable on-field advantages.
From the 2024 analysis, standout findings revealed:
- +11.6% increase in season receiving yards
- +14.2% rise in receiving touchdowns
- +15.5% boost in first down receptions
- +16.4% jump in explosive plays (15+ yards)
- +12.3% reduction in dropped passes
- +21.4% increase in total points scored
- 87.1% of “Monarc teams” made bowl games
Using PFF data to look closely at individual programs using The Seeker, teams, like current national champion Ohio State University, saw a measurable improvement. From 2023 to 2024, Indiana University added 44 passing yards per game, improved their passer rating by 37.8 points, and cut its drop rate in half. BYU added 31 passing yards per game, increased their passing touchdowns 23.5%, and increased their deep throw rate 20.4%.
Monarc co-founder Igor Karlicic stated, “Of course the athletes getting more and better quality practice are outperforming their competitors. PFF is helping us peer past the curtain to quantify how much work ethic, combined with our technology, can help improve an athlete’s growth.” Bhargav Maganti added, “The data shows that our technology is the most impactful development tool for skill positions, especially in the offseason. The next season is already starting for our teams and they’re getting tens of thousands of additional game-like reps every month.”
In a new era of college football with increased competition, teams need to be more data-driven and focused than ever. With an ecosystem of revenue sharing, transfer portal, and ever-increasing costs, it’s clear Monarc’s technology is quickly becoming a pillar in the blueprint for a winning record, bowl game appearances and playoff contention.
